Every style of beer tells a story; about its origin, its evolution, or adaptation to what it is today. In Britain, it is a story of milds and bitters, of pale ales and porters. The development of these beers helped defi ne many of the styles we know today – from IPAs and strong golden ales to stouts and sours. Then, as it is today, beer travelled, and brewers journeyed, brewing techniques shared and brewing yeasts exchanged.
