GERHARD FOUCHEE Cape Town SUNDU MATHIDZA Cape Town MICHAEL CUBIC Durbanville SHEHRYAR MUFTI Washington DC “I love that the Castle Light logo turns bright blue when the beer is cold. Instead of containing the thermochromatic paint to the logo, why not splash the whole can blue when it’s at drinking temperature?” “I’m quite into my Lagers these days. My label would likely be a silhouette of a Baobab tree in a sunset backdrop. I think that would make the beer unmistakably African. The Baobab would symbolise the history of African brewing and the soul of African flavours. It would be called ‘Mohau’ which means ‘thirst’ in my language Sepedi.” "I brewed a NEPA inspired by Aegir, and named it "Hopzilla" purely due to the amount of dry hopping, which was insane. I then asked AI to design a beer logo with 'Godzillla' and 'hops' as the main images. I think it turned out awesome with very little effort involved." “I would love to see a beer with original art on every bottle. The art could be by a Nobel Peace Laureate or a world- famous porn star. You never know until after you buy the bottle. Regardless, the bottle lives on as an art piece. Doesn’t matter how mediocre the beer is.” If you could design a label for a beer can, what would it include (images, symbols, etc.) and for what beer?
