BEEREX AFRICA 2024 23 25 MAY 2024 T  he 23rd to 25th of May saw a return to BeerEx Africa. This time it was held in the Hilton Double Tree in Woodstock, Cape Town, with an Expo that allowed beer lovers to interact with malt, hops and yeast suppliers, while also tasting craft beer from around theWestern Cape region. The all-day conference on Saturday offered in-depth technical discussions for commercial craft brewers, with guest speakers from around the world, as well as broader discussions on such subjects as the state of the industry in South Africa or the burgeoning craft beer scene in West Africa. There were also brief informative talks included next to the main Expo floor, where participants were able to mingle and meet with those who share their passion for beer. The event works in conjunction with the African Beer Cup (ABC), a competition with an international panel of judges and contestants from all over Africa. The ABC awards ceremony capped off the eventful weekend on Saturday night at the Jack Black Taproom (details of which are included in our Brew News section).
