BASA also took part in the Craft Brewer’s Powwow in May in order to showcase, once again, our contribution towards growing beer tourism and making South Africa a beer destination of choice, through our online, digital map with several BrewRoutes for tourists and travellers to enjoy. You can now download six unique BrewRoutes which are provided on the website, showcasing six beer routes in six regions - namely, the Western Cape, West Coast, Eastern Cape, North West, Johannesburg, and Mpumalanga. These downloadable maps also highlight other tourist attractions, which can be visited as part of these routes, and which the whole family can enjoy. We understand that craft breweries were amongst those hardest hit by the four blanket bans on alcohol since the outbreak of Covid-19 and we hope that this initiative will continue to increase foot traffic to the establishments that have managed to survive against all odds over the past two years.
