BEER MEETS FOOD ALL THINGS PUMPKIN! I recently returned from a trip home to visit my family on the East Coast of the US, perfectly timed to witness the beautiful changing of the leaves from summer green to an explosion of red, orange and yellow so typical of the autumn season in New England especially. Perhaps my timing is off, given that here in South Africa we are heading into summer, but the trip inspired me to share my homebrew pumpkin beer recipe, as well as the ways in which the pumpkin itself can be re-used after brew day to make some rather delicious cookies (and many other baked goods too)! While pumpkin is more closely associated with savory recipes here in South Africa, once you’ve tried these cookies, you may appreciate its dessert potential!
