I've been a fan of this brewery for quite some time now, and when new releases like this are brought out I get reminded exactly why I'm a fan. This beer seems to be correctly named as it is easily one of the tastiest red lagers I've ever had – and I imagine we could all agree on that. The colour was exquisite to say the least and the ruby hues and brilliant clarity helped me know that a treat was on the cards. So it looks the part, but did it also hit the mark on aroma and flavour? The simple answer to that question is yes. There’s a malt-forward aroma with caramel and light toffee notes, with a blood orange profile joining those same malt notes on the flavour. A great beer for any day and any occasion. – BL Richmond Hill Brewing Company UNANIMOUS (5.3%ABV) 3.9 Named after the legendary heavy metal group Mötley Crüe, Kennel Brewery brings us this barrel-aged, dry-hopped fruited sour and it goes down as good as the band itself. I always looked at Mötley Crüe as a bit more punk rock then heavy metal and I feel the same about this beer. A great looking drink from the get-go with a hazy orange-gold colour and an aroma that hit the olfactories straight away with powerful notes of orange, peach, and nectarines backed up by that sour sting that I have grown to love. The flavour was similar to the aroma but added in additional fruits like mango and plum, plus a light malt backbone to balance this off well. Kennel Brewery is known for their play-on-words when it comes to their beer names, but they are widely becoming known more for their approach to the beer itself and I for one am enjoying seeing what is next in store. – BL Kennel Brewing Company MÜTLEY CRÜE (4.2%ABV) 4.0 M Y Y Y ABC_SummerEdition_2022.pdf 1 11/24/22 11:31 AM
