The Craft Brewers Powwow, an annual conference and expo held in Cape Town, has rebranded and will relaunch in 2023 as BeerEx Africa. The conference will feature more speakers, more exhibitors, plus a range of interactive demos and tastings. The conference will now take place over two days rather than three, with significantly reduced ticket prices aimed to encourage beer lovers, home brewers and professional brewers alike to join in. After 14 years at their Muldersdrift location, Gilroy's Brewery has announced that they will be relocating to Rivonia. The move will take place throughout January and February, with the iconic spot in Muldersdrift closing permanently in February. The Rivonia location will launch in March, with a guarantee that it will still be the same old Gilroy’s, complete with Up Yours salute… Yeti Underground Movement (YUM) will launch its final experimental beer for 2022 on 10 December. Brewers Gavin Marais and Danie Odendaal were tight lipped as to what to expect, but keep an eye on their social media for more details. The beer will simultaneously launch at OC Brewery’s taproom in Kya Sands, Capital Craft in Pretoria and Beerworks in Cape Town.
