CONTRIBUTORS SPRING 2025 Pete Brown is a British author, journalist, broadcaster and consultant specialising in food and drink. Since February 2025, he has been the Sunday Times Magazine’s weekly beer columnist – the only regular broadsheet newspaper or magazine beer columnist in the UK. https://www.petebrown.net Pete Brown Tim holds a Diploma Master Brewer and is a brewing legend with 40 years in the brewing and malting industry. He is an enthusiastic taster and BJCP judge, tutor for CIBD diploma brewer exams, as well as a part-time brewing consultant. Now, semi-retired and living at the coast, Tim loves copper, building pot and reflux stills, and enjoying beer and life. Tim Godfrey Megan Gemmell, a Microbiology Master's graduate, found her passion for brewing 15 years ago. She went from homebrewing to then taking the leap to owning and brewing for her own brand, Clockwork Brewhouse. She's a recognized BJCP judge and also mentors the brewing course at the 1000 Hills Chef School. She has also won multiple awards for her brews over the years. Megan Gemmell Lotte is a Certified Cicerone, accredited Beer Sommelier, international beer judge and beer writer who conducts talks and tastings about American craft beer, organises events and is a keen advocate of beer and food pairing. She co-authored her first book ‘World’s Greatest Beers’, published by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) in the UK in August 2022. She is the Brewers Association’s American Craft Beer Ambassador for Europe and a member of CAMRA’s London tasting panel. Lotte Peplow Anelda is a keen homebrewer, beer enthusiast and in 2024, was awarded the Durban Homebrewers’ New Brewer Of The Year award. As a nail technician, famous for her artistry and owner of the Luv uR Nails salon, she has brought her creative and business skills into the beer sector both as homebrewer and as a member of the organising committee for 2025’s Ales For Tails. Anelda Fouchè Before finding a life in the beer industry, Cat has worked through a range of careers, from teaching English and dance classes, to being a bouncer and commercial fisherman. After a decade of working as a brewer in facilities big and small, she now happily resides at Yakima Chief Hops as their Copywriting Manager. Cat lives on the coast of Oregon in America's Pacific Northwest with her husband and two cats. She loves traditional Munich Helles by the litre, viscous Russian Imperial Stouts by the snifter, and always orders the West Coast IPA. Cat Wiest Anesu is a Masters in Food Science candidate specialising in brewing and distilling. She is currently writing her thesis on hop analysis, but brewing has found a special place in her life through Intervarsity brewing challenges and as a member of the Helderberg Homebrew Club. Anesu Mukuwane Charlotte is a head brewer in London with an MSc in Brewing Science from the University of Nottingham.
