The awards were held by Tshwane Tourism on Saturday 16 August as a celebration of resilience, innovation and excellence in the Tshwane's tourism sector. The judging was based on • Community Contribution & Sustainability • Internal Environment & Team Culture • Industry Collaboration & Engagement • Business Growth & Improvement MOTHER CITY BEER PROJECT HOSTED THEIR SECOND ANNUAL ALL LADIES HOMEBREW COMPETITION ON NATIONALWOMEN'S DAY, SATURDAY 9TH AUGUST. The event took place, in partnership with Electrical Industries and Shackleton Brewing Company who made their venue available for a mini-festival. 27 ladies took part, producing 22 different and creative beers for competition and tasting. 139 tokens were issued on the day to public for the purposes of crowing a People’s Choice winner, and an estimated 160 people were in attendance across the day. At the end of 3 hours of tasting and voting, the top 7 positions were determined and various prizes were awarded - all generously sponsored by over 14 businesses. 1st. Taryn Smit (nee Stacey) with a Passion Fruit Sour. 2nd. Karen Gunton & Monique Berger - Lemon basil Herb Pale Ale. 3rd. Lana Jackson - Coffee Stout with Salted caramel. 4th. Tanya Gosch - Belgian Blonde with Chai Spice. 5th. Sonja van Rensburg, Anja van Zyl and Filla Dickson - Chocolate Porter 6th. Jocelyn King - Mimosa Session Brut IPA with orange. 7th. Mellony Harrowsmith - American Pale Ale.
