She is the founder of www.brewmistress.co.za and writes for numerous international beer publications. Lucy started South African National Beer Day in 2016 and co-founded the African Beer Cup with her husband, Shawn, in 2018. She is Africa’s first AdvancedCicerone and runs a range of workshops and training courses on all things beer related. Lucy Corne Rob is a home brewer, BJCP beer judge and all-round beer geek. He loves everything about beer, be it the science, the history, or the practical nature. His life quest is to brew the perfect English Bitter. Rob is our resident list maker. Rob Cass Olga is a research scientist at the Central University of Technology (CUT) and studies microbial genetics in the food production environment. She has a PhD in Biochemistry and is the event coordinator of Intervarsitybrew the Brewing & Tasting Challenge hosted for university students every year in Bloemfontein. Olga De Smidt A BJCP National judge and the BJCP African representative, Chris has been involved with the Intervarsity brewing competition since its inception and has organised the judging since 2009. He is also a past chairman of the Wort Hogs Brewing Club. Chris Roth Kelly “KfM”Meyer is an author and host of theHowNot to Start aDamn Brewery podcast. He describes himself as, “an American craft beer fan that owned a brewery for a decade, but doesn’t anymore.” As he witnessed his investment and dream of running a brewery disappear in 2019, he sat down and made a list of all that he had done wrong and How Not to Start a Damn Brewery. Kelly Meyer Nephrologist by day, craft beer enthusiast by night. Trevor is the co-founder of the Fools andFans festival inGreyton and former owner ofOldPotters. https://foolsandfans.co.za/ Trevor Gerntholtz Lotte is a Certified Cicerone, accredited Beer Sommelier, international beer judge and beer writer who conducts talks and tastings about American craft beer, organises events and is a keen advocate of beer and food pairing. She co-authored her first book ‘World’s Greatest Beers’, published by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) in the UK in August 2022. She is the Brewers Association’s American Craft Beer Ambassador for Europe and a member of CAMRA’s London tasting panel. Lotte Peplow After working in Lifestyle Television for years it was the show DIS! that convinced Anél to become qualified in culinary arts.
