FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT OUR WEBSITE https://intervarsitybrew.co.za/ competition in 2022 as Intervarsitybrew: Brewing & Tasting Challenge which now resides at CUT in Bloemfontein. It is co- hosted by the non-profit Beer Association of South Africa (BASA), supported by their partners SAB, Heineken and the Craft Brewers Association of South Africa (CBASA), as well as other generous sponsors in the brewing, education and training sector. This year marks our 16th consecutive competition and with the 20th of October around the corner, organizing activities are in full swing. If you are not yet excited by the opportunity to participate or justifiably jealous if you can’t, you may be asking the question, “Why does this competition matter?” Brewing and beer appreciation require a diverse set of skills which include microbiology, food safety, sensory evaluation, marketing, graphic design, engineering, chemistry, project management - to name but a few. With a lack of formal university programs in pure brewing science, Intervarsitybrew drives passion for beer and brewing and inspires students from any field of study to find their place in the beer space. Amicrocosm for future generations of responsible beer geeks.
