SEPTEMBER HOMEBREWERS’ DIARY Homebrewers Oktoberfest Lilypatrick Brewery, 10am Three local homebrewing clubs are joining forces to host this one-day fest. The Wijnland, Helderberg and SouthYeasters Clubs present the first WP Homebrew Championship and Homebrewers Oktoberfest Festival. The top ten brewers from each club will enter any German- style beer, with the first WP Champion brewer and club crowned on the day. There will be free tasters, a live brewing demo and great food. Entry R60, which includes a branded glass and plenty of beer tasters. 17 Yeastern Cape Brew Club Saison Competition German Club, Lorraine, Gqeberha, 6pm Only members can enter a beer for judging, but all are welcome to join the meeting. 29 Wort Hogs Pretoria Meeting Capital Craft, Menlo Park, 6:30pm There will be a guest speaker, beer quiz and league tasting. Members R60, guests R80. Entrance includes your first beer. 06 Wort Hog Brewers Oktoberfest Copperlake Brewing Co., Lanseria, 11am There will be more than 20 different beers to taste, as well as beer, wine, food and gin on sale from Copperlake. Tickets are R120, which includes a festival glass and all tasters till the homebrew runs out! Kids and non beer drinkers free. 08 Yeastern Cape Brew Club Beerfest PEDSAC, Port Elizabeth Harbour, Gqeberha, 12pm Our annual Oktoberfest, with more than 30 beers to taste and food from Off the Hook Seafood & Grill.
