Yeti Underground Movement Das Schunkel Bier (5.5% ABV) Rather than simply pairing their festbier with a pretzel, the YUM team took it a step further and actually added 22kg of pretzels to the mash tun. The writers of the Reinheitsgebot would turn in their graves. Aegir Project See You Next Fall IPA (6% ABV) You’ll have to head to the Noordhoek brewery to sample this new juicy IPA, brewed to celebrate the change of season and bid farewell to cold weather until next fall. Also launching soon is Mütley Crüe, a dry- hopped and barrel-aged fruited sour. Afro Caribbean x Cape Town Meadery Braggot (6.5% ABV) A collab with Cape Town’s only meadery, this braggot (a beer/mead blend) melds dark malts with two African honeys. Jack Black Super Crush Cherry Ale (4.5% ABV) Following on from the extremely popular Super Crush Grapefruit Radler, Jack Black’s latest special release is a cherry ale. It’s currently only available on tap at the brewery, but keep an eye out for the packaged version later in the year. NEW BREWS 14 | Spring 2022 | ontapmag.co.za
