OnTap Magazine

mag, and by that I mean find advertisers. As luck would have it Beer Boot Camp, an event where homebrewers and craft beer enthusiasts come together for the appreciation of quality beer, was taking place in July – just a couple of weeks away. We rushed a mockup version of the magazine to use as a showpiece at the Boot Camp. It was an instant hit, everyone loved the idea (and it wasn’t just the beer talking). In fact, everyone I spoke to was excited and the advertisers came to the party. It was all systems go. Final box ticked. In September 2016, the first issue of On Tap was out and we haven’t looked back. REACHING A MILESTONE This year, with the spring 2021 issue of On Tap, we celebrate five years. It’s been a journey of fun, of being in the company of talented brewers creating great beers, of beer launches and festivals, and most importantly, drinking damn fine beers. On Tap truly is a magazine for beer lovers, brewers and those just beginning to dip their proverbial toe into the mash tun. As we celebrate this five year anniversary, there are many people I need to thank. Firstly, I thank all our advertisers; without your support there would be no On Tap. Then a special mention to Rachel for all the creativity in the layout of the magazine, your brilliance in the look and style of each issue since you became involved in 2018 is a testament to you and your fantastic design team. And now to our editor, Lucy. Where do I begin? Thank you for your dedication to On Tap. Thank you for your love of the beer industry that is South Africa. Without you I wouldn’t be writing this… And just a gentle reminder that you need to tighten up your deadlines! Cheers to all of our readers for supporting the magazine and please join us in raising a glass and toasting to the next five years. FEATURE
