Entry is free. Delta Café, Randburg 30 Touch Local Craft Fest A celebration of home-grown and proudly South African products, including beer, wine, spirits and food. The fest aims to showcase cultural inclusivity and diversity, inspiring and empowering anyone looking to develop their drinks knowledge, from beginners to experts. Tickets will be available on Quicket and will include 10+ beverage tastings and a goodie bag. The fest kicks off with a homebrew showcase on Friday featuring beers from all SA’s clubs. On Saturday there will be beers from 12 breweries from across the Western and Eastern Cape, KZN and Gauteng, plus wine and spirits. Tickets R100 for Friday, R150 for Saturday or R200 for a weekend pass. Moravian Field, Greyton, Cape Town EVENTS CALENDAR MAY J UNE 18 Capital Craft Beer Fest After an absence of two years, Capital Craft is back for its eighth instalment. This year’s festival will feature the country’s favourite craft brewers, an abundance of entertainment for all musical tastes and a diverse selection of food on offer. Due to current Covid regulations, only 2000 tickets will be available so grab some quickly via Plankton. Tickets R250. Pretoria National Botanical Garden. 10am-7pm 13 - 15 Craft Brewers Powwow The three-day beer and brewing conference features local and international speakers including Spike Buckowski, co-founder of Terrapin Beer Company, Adam Dulye, executive chef of the Brewers Association, US industry veteran Pete Slosberg and Stéphane Meulemans, GM of Fermentis. Sessions also include sensory training, blind tastings and practical sessions on distilling. Friday is the homebrewers’ braai, with the winners of this year’s homebrew competition announced, while Saturday is the hotly-awaited awards evening for the 2022 African Beer Cup. Hotel Verde, Cape Town 20 - 21 Clarens Craft Beer Festival Beer lovers will be scrambling to attend this year’s Clarens Craft Beer Festival, the first since the pandemic began.
